There is a lot of fun to be found in Chinatown, but it can be dangerous so I suggest to not go off by yourself, pay attention to your surroundings and of course don't drink too much! )įusion is Waikiki only gay bar. There are a number of galleries you can visit including Louis Pohl, the Cathedral Gallery, Jeff Chang Pottery, thirtyninehotel and so much moreĪfter exploring and possibly buying some artwork you have a chance to sit down and dine in one of the restaurants amid Chinatown's exciting downtown dining scene, or even a drink at the many bars or lounges. Or the famous and eclectic Arts at Marks Garage. Their are many galleries that participate in the art walk like the Pegge Hopper Gallery which has original paintings and affordable prints. The art walk in Chinatown is a First Friday celebration when a lot of the galleries along Nuuanu Avenue and Bethel Street near the historic Hawaii Theatre have open houses where you can see art work and meet the contemporary Hawaiian artists.
